BEHIND-THE-SCENES VIRTUAL EXPEDITION: WHITE SHARKS AND WHALES
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 18th
7:00-9:00 pm EDT
Whale and Dolphin Conservation (WDC) and the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy (AWSC) have hosted this wildly popular trip for the last six years, raising both awareness and important funding towards ocean conservation.
This year we are offering something VERY unique - we are bringing you "behind the scenes" to listen live as our shark and whale experts, eagle-eyed spotter pilot and amazing boat captain reflect on the ten expedition trips they've taken since it all started in 2014.
How do we decide if we are going to watch whales or sharks first? How does Captain Russ maneuver a 100- foot boot in shallow water to get us great views? How does spotter pilot Wayne spot the sharks from the air and guide the boat where to go? What are all of their favorite moments? Plus they will answer questions that you send in!
Who are the guest speakers?
Regina Asmutis-Silvia, Executive Director and Senior Biologist for Whale & Dolphin Conservation
Megan Winton, Shark Scientist for Atlantic White Shark Conservancy
Russ Burgess, Captain, USCG 100-ton Master License, Captain John Boats
Wayne Davis, Spotter Pilot and Photographer
John Chisholm, Shark Researcher
Michelle Collins, Program Manager for Whale & Dolphin Conservation
Tickets for the Behind-the-Scenes Virtual Expedition are now on sale!
The ticket is for your household to virtually join our guest panel as they share stories and reminisce on the last ten Expedition trips. There will be some great stories, your questions answered, and lots of laughs.
Tickets are $35.00 per household and we will send you a link to join us live. After the event a video link will be sent to you that will be available for 72 hours after the live presentation, just in case you couldn't join us or you want to re-watch the fun!
